Football Slide Show

Long Time no Blog

Since school has started, life has become about 20 times busier!!! Between school, after school functions, PTO and Sitebased meeting we are all just about exhausted. Then we throw in football. Practice 3 nights and usually both saturdays and sundays at the field. So I am going to take advantage of some down time now. This down time of-course comes to us courtesy of IKE! His lovely remnants have ripped through the mid west leaving us powerless.  We are really lucky. Only without power for roughly 5 hours. Being on the same grid as a fire station has its advantages!!! Friends are still without almost 3 days later. Our school got power back about 5am this morning, so it looks like back to business tomorrow!  Over Labor Day, Dad and Jackie came up for a few hours. Jake took advantage of the bike being here and took a ride. So here are the pictures that came from it!

Its really quiet

Because the kids are at school. First day was today. I thought since they had football all weekend, and didnt get home until 8 last night. They would just be exhausted. But nope, they were both up at 6:30 ready and rearing to go! Jake has his same teacher from last year. She moved up to first grade. And seeing as she is a very very dear friend of mine, I feel very lucky. And know he is in the best place possible. He was also very excited about taking his lunch to school in his new Transformers lunch box!  Sophie was thrilled, being in third grade now, that means a new hallway, THE BIG KIDS HALLWAY! Her teacher is fabulous I requested her. She is young, I think 25. Sophie just adores her. This year they will be co teaching in that room, giving them time to focus one on one with each kid. And what this should mean for Sophie is letting her be able to excel!!! I couldnt be happier. I'm anxious to see how this all plays out today. We have an hour and half before they have to be at football from the time they get home. Jake will probably be exhausted. But I'm sure they will both be great.

QUACK QUACK

In a desperate attempt to find a fun end of the summer outing, I took the kids to ride the DUCK. This was only after attempting the zoo, which all 3 lots were full, so that was out. And could not get a hold of Brett to get our aquarium tickets Sophie won from Bob Evan's.
The kids were actually excited about riding the DUCK.  I thought it was a lot of fun, and now plan to ride them whenever we are in another city that has them.
